This book is a novel based on the 1950s TV space adventure show Captain Video and His Video Rangers that was broadcast for a half-hour on weeknights from 1949 to 1955, and its 20-episode 1953-1954 bi-weekly Saturday morning spin-off, The Secret Files of Captain Video. Ranger Rogers, Communications Officer at Video Rangers Headquarters, was the host and narrator for all the Captain Video and His Video Rangers live-broadcast shows. To simulate the continuing-story-line (“cliffhanger”) aspect of the TV show, each chapter begins with a Ranger Rogers narration addressed to the “Rangers,” the viewers of the TV show back in the 1950s (now you, the reader of this novel in the 21st Century). Hence, this novel begins as if there was a chapter before the first and ends as if there is a chapter after the last. (Note.
