The Ultisan Mouthpiece was inspired and realized by the success of the Altisan Trumpet, developed based on designs since the 1920s. The shape, tone and response of the Ultisan Mouthpiece are reminiscent of early back mouthpieces. Modeled after the 1940s and 1950s, it uses specially selected throat and back bore to recreate the characters.
